Collection of unrelated ephemera, printed materials, and correspondence pertaining to the life and history of Chinese people in California. Includes materials related to Chinatown tourism, Weaverville Joss House, Chinese Historical Society, mission schools for girls (Ming Quong Home) and boys (Chung Mei House), the arts, museums, events, excerpted articles on the Chinese in California from various publications, and items on the repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act. Some materials have pictorial content. Also includes instructions in English and Chinese for an essay contest on the topic, "A Blueprint for the Improvement of Chinatown Business", sponsored by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco, Calif.
